| This nearly 600 km long freshwater lake is nestled within the narrowing of the Rift Valley with mountains as high as 3000 metres above sea level. These great contrasts help to make the landscape of Malawi one of the most varied in all Africa. The scenery, including its cloak of vegetation, presents an ever-changing vista. |
