Eighteen women from around the world gathered in Plett from May 30 to June 10 with the hope of being picked for an all-female 34 000km expedition from March to August next year, starting at Africa's southernmost tip of Cape Agulhas and ending at the northernmost tip of Europe, Nordkap in Norway. |
The Mitsubishi Africa Adventure Cape to Cape Expedition team was selected from a group of finalists attending an 11-day workshop in Tsitsikamma and Plett.
The women who made the final team will promote African tourist destinations including the Garden Route, while crossing 28 countries en route to their destination. |

Event organisers of the Cape to Cape Expedition have been overwhelmed by the positive response from the local tourism industry. During the selection workshop, the finalists bungy-jumped, showed their steel on quad bikes, did a zipline trip and engaged in many other activities before the final team was chosen after going to press. |
