16 Fearless Women to Conquer Africa

5 Vehicles, 2 Continents, approximately 28 countries, 8 months, +/- 40 000km and 100% women!

The all-women team will kick off their journey on International Women's Day 8 March 2009, starting from Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, traverse the African Continent through to Europe to its northernmost tip, the Nordkap or North Cape, in Norway.

The Mitsubishi Africa Adventure Cape to Cape Expedition draws international interest to Africa as a travel destination and provides a close up look into travelling Africa."Just another trip through Africa- nothing out of the ordinary", you might say.
"But if this trip is undertaken by a group of fearless women and if it is done to promote tourism to the most alluring continent, it suddenly becomes something quite extraordinary!" says expedition organiser Enya Fehler.

This Expedition, The Mitsubishi Africa Adventure Cape to Cape, starts from Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, approx. 150km east of Cape Town and traverses the Africa continent all the way through Europe to its northernmost tip, the Nordkap of North Cape in Norway.

The all-women team will kick off their journey on International Women's Day, March 8 2009 and has the unreserved endorsement of Marthinus van Schalkwyk, Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, South Africa, who congratulated the oragnizers on their initiative to promote tourism to Africa.

On Saturday, 7 June 2008 the ladies received an extensive one-on-one training session with the guys from Stanmar Motors George.

Training has been done on the 4x4 course at the Stanmar premises as well as at Vleesbaai. Here the ladies attacked the sand dunes and conquered each and every one with the Mitsubishi 4x4s.

The Mitsubishi Africa Adventure Cape to Cape Expedition is a non-profit initiative undertaken to create greater awareness of Africa as a travel destination, encouraging sustainable tourism development to the benefit of all its people, while providing travellers to Africa with accurate unbiased travel information.

Having different objectives, the Expedition is divided into two parts.

Part one is the journey through Africa, to appreciate its people and cultures and to collect firsthand travel information about the countries visited which will be made available to the tourist online and in a variety of publications and travel documentaries.

The second part is to visit major cities in Europe, to extensively promote Africa as a continent with many safe and alluring travel destinations by means of road shows, television broadcasts and printed publications.

If you are confident that your company, products or services can stand up to this challenging journey of discovery, diversity and determination throughout Africa and Europe, the team would be proud to carry your brand with them across two continents and 28 countries.

We therefore ask you to consider sponsorship of this high profile event and to contact Enya Fehler on capetocape@africa-adventure.travel to discuss details of a possible co-operation.

Sponsorship options available from R5000 which can be in form of currently and/or needed equipment and services.
